Victoria was walking towards Serene town to do her first batttle with chimpchar. Victoria thought about the future would she become a pokemon master, Contest master or both. She thought about what Chimpchar would like. Victoria looked back at Chimpchar and saw a big smile on her face and the excitment in her eyes. Victoria smiled back and patted her head.

As Victoria walked along the road, a Pokemon hide behind a bush, eyes burrowed in fury. He didn't know why he was angry, he just was. As usual. Crouching down, he watched as she reached back to pat the head of Chimchar behind her. What an outrageous excuse for a Pokemon! Teaming with humans! He was going to time this perfectly. Very perfectly...completely accurate... As she stepped exactly where he wanted, he sprung out in front of her, kicking up dust and dirt from where his feet skidded over the ground. He smiled. He loved dirt. It was so...natural. Giving a battle cry, he flung his claws into the ground, swiping dust into the air, a perfect Sand-Attack. This was going to be a battle! You have been attacked! It digs deep burrows to live in. When in danger, it rolls up its body to withstand attacks. |

Victoria coughed as the dirt flung in face as she turned she saw the fear in her chimpchars face she put on her serious face and said "Chimpchar use scratch " Chimpchar look at Victoria and nodded. Chimpchar sprinted torwards the Sandshrew and hit him on the side of his face. But it didn't do much She looked at Chimpchar and told Chimpchar to do leer.

(Ninetales, I let this one go, but your Chimchar just auto-hit the wild Sandshrew. You don't know if it will hit or not, so don't assume it does. Also, since you used scratch, you can't use another move until the other has had its turn, so Sandshrew will just pretend Leer never happened.)
Sandshrew just stood and watched as the Chimchar leaped for him and scratched the side of his face. He reeled back just a bit, but his tight defenses shielded him from most harm. He knew that move as well and, if Chimchar was just going to use that move first, he certainly wasn't going to use it back. Instead, he once again dug his claws into the ground, sending sand and dust flying. Sand-attack again, Sandshrew's specialty, lowering the attacker's defense. He stood by and waited for Chimchar to make his next move, smirking. This battle was already going his way.

Victoria once again coughed and said "Chimpchar use leer" Chimpchar gave a nasty stare at Sandshrew and her eyes started to glow.

As Sandshrew locked eyes with Chimchar, he froze. Everything was red, the other Pokemon looked like a hideous monster. He cowered down in fear, wanting to escape the battle. He wanted it to end. Then it was over. He opened his eyes again and looked up at Chimchar. She was an ordinary Pokemon again, the battle was an ordinary battle, but Sandshrew was left weak and shaking. It hadn't docked off any health, but, due to his knoledge, he was easier to hit now. He growled and leapt forward, claws shining and extended. It was time to get this battle started with a Scratch attack!

Victoria watched her chimpchar hit the ground then quickly getting back on her feet with a look of shock on her face from Sandshrew's sudden comeback. Victoria thought about what to do. Victoria told Chimchar to do leer again to try to scare the Sandshrew away from the battle.

Once again, Sandshrew felt the same terrifying sensation in which he was cowering under the mighty glare of Chimchar. When it was over, he stood back up, not scared, but growing angrier and angrier. The battle was beginning to really annoy him. If they weren't going to attack, he would just have to find a way to make him. He crouched down and lashed his tail, smirking at the Chimchar. "Sandshrew! Sand!" <Come and get me, kitty!> He struck out again with his claws, trying to aim a good mark with his Scratch attack.

Victoria eyes widened as chimpchar dodged the attack, moving her feet swiftly. Then Victoria said "Chimpchar use scratch" and Chimpchar did, determined this time.

Sandshrew, smirking with arrogance, brought his claws down...but Chimchar wasn't there! He turned around just in time to see Chimchar's own sharp claws scratching right across his face. He turned around and slapped a paw to his face. It stung, but no more. He growled deeply, then turned around. When he saw Chimchar, he smiled again. Now the battle was beginning. So time for strategy. He got low to the ground and curled up into a ball, clenching his muslces and raising his Defense. He sat in his Defense Curl and waited for Chimchar to attack again.

Victoria watch Chimpchar emotions change from a smile to a frown. Chimpchar looked confused and took in a deep breath. Victoria stomped her foot to try to alarm the Sandshrew then told Chimpchar to use leer.

Sandshrew could hear Victoria order Chimchar to use Leer. He didn't know what was happening, but it obviously wasn't affecting him. He smiled. New trainers, they didn't know that the Pokemon had to be looking in the other's eyes to use Leer. In case Chimchar was still using it, he decided not to attack. Instead, he raised his claws in the air and used Sand-Attack again. Dust flew at Chimchar's eyes. A moment after, Sandshrew stood up again, ready to dodge any attack that came his way.

Chipchar screeched when the sand flew in her eyes moving back and rubbing them as she did. Victoria forgot your pokemon can't use leer when their eyes are hidden or closed Victoria said "Im so stupid". "Are you okay Chimpchar" Victoria asked Chimpchars eyes were a little pink when she opened them but closed again. Victoria didnt know what to do at this piont. Victoria told Chimpchar to use scratch with a bit of sadness in her vioce. Chimpchar sqwinted and ran toward the side of Sandshrew to scratch.

Sandshrew heard Chimchar screech through the haze of sand and dust. He smiled. Now he couldn't see as well. He listened and tried to hear the Pokemon's footsteps in the ground, but there was nothing. He waited...and waited...he was going to hear something. Every Sandshrew could hear footsteps. Then he heard them. Very faint. They sounded as if they were coming from in front. Foolish Chimchar. He danced away to the left, however, he didn't know that it was the direction Chimchar was coming from. Before he knew what was happening, he was on the ground again, his side burning with the force of Chimchar's scratch. Well, Defense Curl might have helped, but by the last two blows, Sandshrew knew that this Pokemon was stronger than him. His health was almost gone, but so was Chimchar's, as he thought. He decided to use his trump card. He flipped himself onto his belly and began scratching at the ground. Dust flew, but not towards Chimchar. He was burrowing into the ground, but not very fast. He had never used Dig before. Now he realized how hard it was...

Victoria relized Sandshrew was trying a new move. Sand was everywhere she called out for her Chimpchar, She listened for a sigh of Chimpchar then she called louder. Suddenly she herd a little screech. Victoria's eyes widend then said "Chimpchar use scratch" to try to stop the Sandshrew from digging.
