A new Beginning

As Sandshrew continued to dig downwards, but felt Chimchar's sharp claws rake his tail. He shut his eyes with pain. He was near fainting, but if he could just land this move right, Chimchar would be down. Ground was super effective against fire. He continued to burrow, trying to make himself feel a lot stronger. It worked...a little.

When he was in place at the bottom, he turned around and licked his tail. It was full of dirt...which made it better to lick. Dirt was delicious. When he was ready, he turned his head up and jumped into the ground above his head and proceeded to burrow. He didn't realize that he forgot to use his sense of smell and hearing and was blind to Chimchar's position. It was too late when he thought of this and he thundered out of the ground with his claws and teeth bared, ready to deal the blow.

Victoria could finally see her Chimpchar. Victoria saw her Chimpchar crouching over a hole that Sandshrew must have dug. Victoria quickly set her backpack done and take out a empty pokeball planning to catch the Sandshrew. She knew it would be a great addition to her team. So Victoria threw the pokeball at Sandshrew.

[Sam]

Sanshrew, triumphant, clawed at Chimchar...then realized that she wasn't there. Growling, he turned around and readied his claws for another Scratch attack. He leaped at Chimchar as quick as lightning, but then his vision went red. He screeched as he was stopped in mid-air. The red light got stronger and stronger, then it was black. He was crammed in somewhere, but not uncomfortably. He tried to move, then realized what had happened.

On the outside world, the Pokeball Victoria had thrown fell to the ground, Sandshrew inside. It rolled once, twice, three times, then the center glowed red and it was still.

Congratulations! You just caught...

Being a Sandshrew, this little guy is rather aggressive and gets in fights often. He's a born fighter, but can sometimes go over the edge. He's arrogant and battle-hungry, but a loyal companion and reliable in and out of battle.

Chimchar just learned a new move!
Ember-The target is attacked with small flames. It may also leave the target with a burn.

Victoria pick up the pokeball and smiled " I did it " she said looking at Chimpchar. Chimpchar smiled at Victoria while she put the pokeball away. Then Chimpchar crawled into Victoria's arms and closed her eyes to get some rest. Victoria countiued her journey with a great start and a great friend.
