Heather strode sulkily along the dirt road. She gave no notice of the beautiful mountain landscape, nor the fact that she'd never met her Pokemon yet. She just walked. Thinking about home. The warm, heated rooms, comfortable chairs, plenty of things to. Out here, rain splashed around her feet, thunder rumbled in the sky, and nothing was as it should be on a new trainer's first day. She should have picked the growth season instead of the rainy season to leave...
Too late now, though. Heather just sulked along, angry at her mother for forcing her through this, angry at herself for actually accepting, and angry at the clouds for being there. The only thing around that she wasn't angry at, she soon realized, was her Pokemon. She took out the small device and it grew automatically in her hand. How weird today's technology was. Well, she decided to press that fateful white button and closed her eyes as light flashed in her face. She had the sudden impression that she was dreaming when she saw her partner. Thinking over and over that it wasn't real, she managed to convince herself.
Demon stood a little ways away, crouched in an aggressive position, as if ready to battle, then found only Heather, cringing where she was. He ran up to her and bumped her leg to get her attention. Without his own eyes to stare at her, he pointed his head towards the sky and smiled, missing her face by a long shot. Heather reached down and scooped him up, to his utmost delight, and held him away from her, examining him.
Using his senses, Demon figured out that Heather was right in front of him and she was moving him around a bit. Unsure of what this was for, he stayed perfectly still. This wasn't very good for Heather as she was still trying to figure out if this was real or not. She sighed and put him back on the ground. Excitement raced through the little dragon and he began jumping around in excitement, managing to smash head first into Heather's leg. This hurt her more, however, as Deino's heads are hard as rock. He stopped, suddenly tired, and lay down, panting. He looked up at the estimated location of Heather's face and smiled again.

Poliwag waddled foreward, his tail to big for his body. It gave him bad balance, and he kapt having to move around so he wouldnt fall over. It also didn't help that he held his head so low he couldn't see where he was going, or keep his balance right. But as the rain started, His head shot up. The rain began to form puddles around him, andthe biggest smile grew on his face. He rushed fore ward and jumped, happy as anyone could be! He splashed in the puddle, moving his tail and feet around happily. He shouted in excitment, and soon, the little poliwag realized he was drenched in mud. Anger then overtook his small body. Wa to ruin a perfectly great time splashing. Mud! He waddled foreward, his tail up high, leaning down a little as though he was pushing through obstacles, and grumbling. And finnaly, Poliwag thought he hard some noises. Footsteps, then a flash of light. Fear over took him. He started to shake, and pulled his tail under his legs, and turned to run. Of course, this caused him to trip, and he tumbled backwards toward Heather and Demon. Poliwag Male Water sport/Bubble/Hypnosis/Water Gun NAME HERE is a very odd poliwag. He has mood swings. He reacts instantly and to the extreme emotion caused by a certain situation. He is sometimes hard to deal with, and at other times a gift.

At the noise, Demon jumped up, squealing with excitement. He turned around and sensed the little blue ball roll up and stop right in front of him. He turned towards the approximate location of Heather and jumped, pounding the ground and yelping over and over again. He wanted to fight the Pokemon, but he needed Heather's help. She, however, was still mortally frightened of her own Pokemon. She shook her head at Demon as he gestured towards Poliwag.
This infuriated the little Deino for a different reason, as she was taking too long to answer. He ran up to Heather and bumped her leg again. She let out a little noise of pain as his head connected again with the other leg. She fell forward, almost on top of Deino, but still into mud. It splashed all over her, getting into her hair and her clothes. Most girls would have screamed at the sight of such beautiful clothes ruined. However, this act of falling woke Heather out of her strange dreamy trance and back into reality. She also thought that her looks had genuinely improved splattered by mud, except for the mud on her skin, which was quickly washed away by pouring rain.
She heaved herself up, mud dripping down her jeans, a slight tear on the left knee. It stung so she bent down to examine it. A few drops of blood were rolling down from her knee and she saw a cut showing from under the fabric's tear. She guessed that she had hit a rock, but it wasn't a huge deal. She stood back up and faced the Poliwag. She sighed. If she was a trainer, she'd better start acting like one. And Demon seemed pretty psyched to get started. He turned towards the Poliwag, after confirming that Heather was okay. He looked back up, nervous that she wouldn't want to battle. But she did.
Trying to think back to Demon's moveset, one surfaced. "Demon, use Dragon Rage!" The little Deino's body contracted and he sucked in a great breath. This wasn't fully necessary, but he felt that his first move should be important. He located Poliway with his senses and sent a great wave of a bluish green fire-like substance at the wild Pokemon.

The little pokemon was still scared out of his wits, especially after seeing who had caused the noise. A trainer and a scary Dragon. He yeped and tried to scurry backwards, and fell again. Oh no! The dragon was going to eat him! The most unreasonable and scariest thoughts came into his head. But before long, Heather had gotten herself together, and instructed Demon to attack.
Poliwag froze. A battle? How exciting! So much fun! He popped up and happily bounced from foot to foot in a cricle. A battle! Wow, an actual battle, not a fake one like he always had with the other young pokemon. He was a real pokemon now! A battle, wow! He could hardly think past this point, that dragon rage hit him head on. He felt himself take alot of damage. Wow, what a powerful pokemon!
Poliwag stood up, and joyfully attacked back. He stood stiffly, getting balance to use water gun. A large spout of water shot from his mouth towards Demon, the first attack from poliwag. Wow, what fun!

Demon jumped in glee when Poliwag was hit by his attack. His first attack actually hit! How awesome was that? He danced around a bit as Poliwag put himself together and shot a stream of water at him. He stopped and faced it, a smile still alight on his face. His sightless face was still turned towards Poliwag, but he could feel Heather shifting a bit behind him. Then heard her yell, "Dodge!"
Demon was so surprised by this command, all ready to intercept the Water Gun, that, by the time he decided to dodge, it was too late. So he changed his mind and put his head down, water colliding with his smooth, black fur. He could feel the torrent of water sapping away his health, but very little as water was ineffective against dragon types. When it was over, he shook his head to get out the water. He was a little dizzy from all of that, but it didn't effect his spirit or fighting ability.
"Demon, use Tackle!" He sprung into the air and began running towards Poliwag with his head bowed, ready to smash into him like he had recently done with Heather to wake her up.

Busy in his celabration of battleing and getting a hit with water gun, Poliwag was completley taken by surprise by the tackle. It didn't hurt him the way dragon rage did, just a little bt of damage, but it did knock him into a puddle of mud. In the middle of his shining momment of battle, he was covered by mud, and so very embarassed.
Normaly, he wouldn't have minded, but now, he ws ruined! Embarassed! Panicing and overeacting, poliwag was yelling at Demon!
<WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?>
"POLIWAG POLI?"
Poliwag was in distress. he was torn apart by embarassment. He would embarass Demon! So poliwag threw his muddy body foreward with a pink light glowing around him, and his sprial belly looking like it was spinning, using Hypnosis.

Demon jumped back to his place, his excitement and joy just making him glow! Oh, how he enjoyed this! The first battle was turning out much better then he expected. Both his attacks hit. He danced around again, squealing and resisting the urge to nuzzle Heather's shoe in happiness. He was waiting for Poliwag to attack. He...wasn't really sure what was going on, but he didn't feel much. Well, he was feeling just a little sleepy...no! This was a battle! He snapped himself out of it, still unaware of the swirling circle trying to lull him to sleep. He turned back towards Heather's direction. He could sense her confusion and became confused himself.
Heather was confused because Demon was staring right at the Hypnosis. She was forced to squeeze her eyes shut so not to fall asleep herself. She persuaded herself to open her eyes and look at Demon. He was staring right at Poliwag. Then he looked at her. Then she remembered that Demon couldn't see. "Give him another taste of Dragon Rage."
Once again, Demon contracted and sent the burst of blue and green flames.

Poliwag huffed. He knew his opponent was blind, but the Aura from hypnosis should have done the trick. Apparently not. He became very confused. vey confused, and puzzled, like a baby would be. He sat, very confused, on the ground. Huh....... weird? No affect at all. He was mulling this over as dragon rage hit.
He was weak against his type, and it was to strong for him twice, and wobble a bit after being hit, before falling on the ground before Demon, knowing he was now available for capture, and hoping he would be caught, desperate for redemption.

Demon jumped up and down, slamming his feet happily into the ground as his attack hit again. Woah! He was so awesome! When he evolved, well, then they better watch out, haha! He yelped in joy and bounced around some more, not noticing anything else that was going on. He sniffed and sensed a puddle not to far to his right, so he jumped right in it and started rolling around. Oh, it felt lovely! For a few seconds, he forgot that he was in battle, and just soaked himself in that beautiful water.
Heather, however, was a little oblivious to her Pokemon. He was so ridiculous that she couldn't believe she'd picked such a lame companion. Well, he was strong, kind of. He didn't utterly fail his first battle. Well, about that, she decided to catch the Poliwag. Better not give the poor thing any more pain, and, well, why not. She took out a Pokeball, which grew in her hand again. She threw it at the Pokemon with her best shot and hoped for the best.

Poliwag was as still as could be. Hardly consious yet completley aware. The pokeball came toward Poliwag, and the pinkish light engulfed him. It surrouned his body, changing him to a pink beam, which was sucked into the pokeball with a bright flash. the pokeball shook and stirred, and rolled on the ground as the pokeball tried to contain the emotinaly strong pokemon. The ball stopped moving, and clicked. Poliwag was caught! No. There must have been some mistake. Heather was not here, not staring at the motionless Pokeball, not hearing the triumphant howls of her Pokemon, and absolutely not feeling happy about it. What was wrong with her? Well, whatever. Not that it was that big of a problem. Maybe this could all turn out better than she expected...
In any case, she had to take the Pokemon. She wouldn't leave it here for anyone to pick up, that was stupid. She stepped forward and reached down for it. It shrunk as she pressed on it, making it easier to carry around. She shook her head. This was so strange. She decided to name it, at least to give it individuality. She thought of hundreds of fitting names, but then settled on Duke. Well, it was cute. For what seemed to be at least the tenth time, Demon smashed into her leg blindly, then bounced back, utterly confused to found something in his way. Right, can't forget him. Heather took out her companion's Pokeball and returned him to...whatever he would call it.
