She caught the container with skill and immediately sprayed it onto Fate. She waited anxiously until the little Zorua's eyes fluttered open. She looked up at Rose, smiled, then jumped out of her arms and back onto the muddy ground. She regretted it a moment later as her feet instantly became muddy again. Rose laughed at her face, but more relieved then entertained. So, Fate was okay. Now what were they going to do? She turned to Brendan. "What were you planning to do next?"

As they were battling, a small Pokemon in a bush was watching with wide, sparkling eyes. She was crouching, wondering if either of the humans could see her. If they did, they would get too excited and stop their battle. She didn't want to be that rude. She was watching the Zorua with curious eyes. The way the Pokemon attacked was much like her own style. She wanted to fight this Pokemon. She wanted a good battle...after, of course, the one she was currently in. She turned to another shape beside her and nudged it. It had fallen asleep. The thing jerked awake with a small squeal then glared ahead. What she didn't know was that her friend wasn't there, but right beside her. She looked over, suddenly scared that she had lost her, then sighed in relief. They turned back and watched Tynamo almost knock out Zorua, then stop when the trainer commanded him to. The second one was very surprised by this act. If she was the trainer, then she would have certainly grabbed the victory. Then again, if she was a trainer, everything would be a wreck. So, she decided to just stick to being a Pokemon. The first nudged the other to its senses. She pointed outside the bush. Both Pokemon were being revived and the humans seemed like they were going to be leaving. She motioned with her head, then leaped out, letting out a battle cry. The second, slower, followed close behind. When she stood next to her friend, watching the Pokemon, her blood began to rush. She crouched down and snarled. You have been attacked!Trapinch The Ant Pit Pokemon It makes an inescapable conical pit and lies in wait at the bottom for prey to come tumbling down.Phanpy The Long Nose Pokemon It is strong despite its compact size. It can easily pick up and carry an adult human on its back.

Brendan sighed in silent relief as Fate came to and jumped into the mud. Fang seemed to be in pretty good condition for a guy who had just went through an all-out battle. He was sitting, or rather, floating on top of Brendan's shoulder. He growled contentedly. Brendan bent over and picked up his pack. Three potions left. He would buy some more later. Anyway, he was just about to respond to Rose, when rudely, two wild Pokemon jumped out of the brush and into the clearing. He glanced at Rose, a little bit of confusion showing on his face, and looked back at the two Pokemon. On cue, Fang took off and leapt between Brendan and the other Pokemon. He spoke, "They're both ground-types, so I won't be able to help too much. We'll face them together, though, which should improve our chances." He pointed a finger at Trapinch, and commanded, "Tynamo, hit 'em with Tackle!" After a brief delay, Fang gathered up its energy and barreled towards Trapinch, looking for a weak point.

The second that Fate heard the rustle in the bushes, she crouched down, as if about to leap. Instead, she was wide-eyed with fear. Whatever this was, she seemed to be deadly afraid of it, even though she had just gone through a heated Pokemon battle. Then again, that was probably what set her off into such a nervous sweat. Then the two Pokemon jumped out and Fate immediately went on the defensive. She snarled low and placed a paw in front of her in a symbol for attack. She turned back to Rose for permission to change.
She flipped backwards, shining as she did. Her body stretched and became much bigger then usual, bigger then even Rose herself. Suddenly, she was floating a couple inches off the ground, two hands extended and one red, glowing eye. Fate the Dusknoir tried to give no notice to the Pokemon Illusion had picked for her, but, just like Spinark, it was too interesting. She looked down at her hands, her body. It was so cool, being such a cool Pokemon! She turned to Rose, who was struggling with her Pokedex. This time, Fate would do what the trainer wanted.
Once Rose had gotten to the Dusknoir page, she found its moves. "Ok, Fate, use Ice Punch!" Fate nodded and turned towards Phanpy, raising a balled fist that was now glowing with white energy. It turned into a shade of light blue, then she brought down the ice type attack, smiling with pleasure at this new form.

Trapinch shuffled forward slightly as Tynamo flew her way. If the two of them did this right, they could win this match easily, especially since one was an electric type. Right before the little Pokemon hit him, Trapinch lashed out, opening her wide, sharp-toothed mouth at Tynamo. Bite was her specialty. Only now, maybe, because her jaw was so big. But, it would probably stop Tynampo in his tracks. What she didn't know is what Zorua did.
Phanpy had been readying herself for a touch battle because this Zorua looked like it meant buisness...after it had gotten over being scared. She was ready for the Dark type to unleash her moves against her, but, for some reason, it had turned into something at least four times both their sizes. She froze, staring up in shock at the huge creature that now towered before her. She was too shocked to notice that it was using a supereffective Ice type attack on her. When it hit her side, she went flying into the air and hit the ground, knocking the wind out of her and making her feel like she had just walked through Glacial Mountains. She got up shakily and thought for a second on what move she should use. Then it came to her to use her egg move, Ancientpower. She focused her mind on the rocks surrounding her and intensified the thought. The rocks rose into the air, glowing, then hurdled themselves at the Dusknoir.

In a brilliant burst of white, the air crackled, and Fang was thrown back onto the ground before shaking the dirt off of its body and resuming its former stance.
Brendan glanced around hurriedly. Clearly, Zorua's morph into Dusknoir was the biggest asset they had. After that ice punch, the wild Pokemon would be wary to attack them so soon. Not after taking substantial. But their momentum would soon be halted if that Ancientpower was allowed to land. Tynamo was too far away to intercept it with a physical move, but maybe, just maybe, he might be able to land a Charge Beam into the path of the boulders. It would have to be perfectly timed, though, as it would have to take down all of them. Brendan called for Fang to strike, and Tynamo took aim at the rocks summoned by Phanpy. A surge of adrenaline rushed over Fang, and yellow energy glowed from his body. Just as the Ancientpower was about to crash into Fate, a yellow beam of plasma knocked them out of the way.
Now, it was time to deal with Trapinch. Brendan knew that most of Tynamo's attacks would have no effect on the wild Pokemon. Well, where tactics failed, brute force would have to do. But there was a better place to attack from. His partner, seemed to read his mind, and zoomed around and flanked Trapinch from the side. Brendan motioned for Fang to charge, and after a moment's pause, Tynamo rushed forward once again, straight at its wide-open side.

Fate turned around and tripped backwards in the air. Phanpy's Ancientpower was bearing down on her, and it would hit in seconds. Then, a blast of electricity jumped in front of her and blasted the rocks to pieces. She turned to Fang and called a quick thanks, then turned back to the two Pokemon. Fate narrowed her one eye and tried to find a way to attack one of the Pokemon. Then she saw it. She felt like she owed something to Fang after he stopped Phanpy from disabling her Illusion. So she watched as the Tynamo rocketed towards Trapinch from the side. The other Pokemon could easily turn around and stop his attack. So, she pointed herself towards Trapinch, and shot something that looked like a black thunderbolt from her red eye. Because she had used Night Shade, she was temporarily exposed to Phanpy.

Trapinch, satisfied that she had scored a hit, began to overestimate herself. When Tynamo came in again, she merely turned her head and readied another Bite attack. Then she felt a dull pain rip across her body. Her mouth closed as she squeezed his eyes shut against Dusknoir's Night Shade attack. Then it ended and she had no time to evade or stop Tynamo's Tackle attack. She rolled over, crying in pain again. She laid there for a minute or two, then managed to heave herself up. She stood there, swaying for a bit, then leaped forward, furious, opening her mouth for another Bite attack, but this time, on Dusknoir.
Phanpy was shocked again when, not only her Ancientpower was ruined, but Dusknoir didn't go for her. She stood there for a second, then whipped back into reality. Dusknoir had left herself vulnerable. She could attack her now...but normal type moves wouldn't affect her. So she raised the rocks again and sent another Ancientpower going her way.
Unfortunetly for the two wild Pokemon, they didn't really think this through and it ended with Trapinch being hit by the Ancientpower. He fell to the ground, winded while another rock flew away and crashed into Phanpy.

Brendan had to keep himself from laughing out loud as the two wild Pokemon crashed into each other and an Ancientpower summoned by Phanpy ended up crashing into Trapinch. They were safe for a moment, as the their foes were both stunned for a moment. Then Brendan had an idea. He called for Fang to use Spark. Tynamo looked confused for a moment, then understood. He flew toward Trapinch, oozing electric sparks, but just as collision was imminent, Brendan shouted, "Now switch to Tackle!" Almost instantly, Fang's body stopped glowing, heading for a collision course against Trapinch's exposed body.

Just as Rose was, Fate was rather amused and got a pleasant surprise when the two Pokemon messed up their moves. This was their chance to get them. She looked over to Rose, trying to smile, but found it hard in the Dusknoir form. So she turned back and raised her fist again, balling up another Ice Punch, then launched herself at Phanpy again.

The two wild Pokemon, Phanpy crused by the rocks and Trapinch stuck on his back, were in no condition to even think about avoiding enemy attacks. In the result that followed, Trapinch was knocked five yards away and Phanpy was thrown into a tree. Tired, bewildered, stunned, and defeated, the two Pokemon lay in their positions, staring at the two Pokemon and their trainers. Well...either they would finish them off, let them go, or catch them.

The two wild Pokemon groaned in defeat, pain, or both. Brendan chuckled to himself quietly, while Fang did the same. Brendan took a deep breath, plucked a Pokeball out of his pack, and heaved it with all his might, sucking in the Trapinch, leaving only a red glare.

OOC: Yes, I beat your record, Wolf!
Rose, confidence rushing through her, took a Pokeball out of the pack and threw it. Phanpy disappeared in a flash of red light.

Trapinch was not even aware when the Pokeball floated over her head. She barely even noticed when she was sucked inside. She lay in there, almost fainted, sort of sleeping, when the center stopped glowing and some sort of reviver was injected and she was in full fighting energy. Then she realized that she was trapped inside a Pokeball. She sat down, a strange feeling inside her, then decided to sleep. Whatever had just happened, it had been a long day. And it was time to rest. Phanpy, too, had not noticed when the Pokeball came flying her way. She did noticed, however, when the Pokeball grabbed her from the ground and locked her in its grip. When she was inside, she lashed out at the sides, but to no result. The hold was too strong. She didn't want to be caught. She wanted to be wild. Then, either it was some strange revelation inside her or the Pokeball was affecting her, she was suddenly thinking of Rose and, if she was lucky, how nice she would be. Well, Phanpy, surely, didn't want to be a slave, but she wanted to be a friend. And from what her own eyes could see, that friendship was very possible. Congratulations! You just caught...(Brendan) Trapinch Bite | Sand Attack | Fury Cutter | Empty Slot However hard Trapinch usually works in battle, she's a clueless little Pokemon and most likely will need some probing to understand what is happening. She doesn't get angry a lot and is loyal in battle, but, otherwise, is just out of it.(Rose) Phanpy Odor Sleuth | Tackle | Defense Curl | Ancientpower Unlike her friend, Phanpy is focused. She's a hard worker and usually tries to do things right. Most of the time, she does, but when she messes up, she gets angry. Unless it was so big she doesn't even care anymore. She's aggressive, but very true of heart.

The sun glinted off of into the sea, its rays reflecting into the sea. A few birds made their way toward the distant isle that was West Wind City, just barely visible. Brendan eyed the red-and white Poke ball that was in his hand. Fang settled back onto his shoulder, somewhat tired, but still brimming with energy. He took a deep breath, and pressed the button on the center. The Poke ball grew in size, then opened to reveal a shimmering red shape that soon became Trapinch. At first, she looked around, yawning, but then saw Brendan, and smiled, or at least tried to. Brendan returned it, and Fang darted down towards her. He scratched his head for a moment, thinking about the name that he was about to give to his new friend.
Meanwhile, Fang and Trapinch were rolling around on the mud, growling at each other playfully. Brendan smiled at the sight, and an idea hit him. He turned to Fang, and whispered in his ear. Tynamo nodded, and spoke quickly to Trapinch in Pokemon-speak, or whatever it was. Trapinch, or rather, Celeste, as Brendan had named her, nodded graciously, still unsure about what he was talking about in the first place. Brendan stifled a chuckle, thinking of the similarities between him and Trapinch, then shook his head.
Anyway, they had spent a few hours there in the Safari Zone, learning the ropes of battling and catching Pokemon. Now it was time to move on, to the gleaming metropolis that shined in the distance. Well, after a few more hours walking and a short ride on the ferry, they would be there. Hopefully, they would be able to spend a night in the hotel, there, too. He saw Celeste yawning, and stretching. He patted her head, then pulled out the Poke ball. In an instant, Titan disappeared in a red glow, sleeping. He nodded to Rose. "Let's be on our way, then."
