It is said that the world used to be ocean and one super continent, Pangaea. This rumor is true. A long time ago, in the time of Pangea, before Pokemon like Kabuto became fossils, there was nothing in the world, nothing to live for. There were no seasons. There was no joy or sadness, no pain or comfort, life was very dull. Pokemon were not called Pokemon back then. There were two types of living creatures: The Inhabitants which included Pokemon like Relicanth and Sheldon and the Rulers which were what we now call the legendaries. The Inhabitants complained to the Rulers that the world was boring, there were so few of their own species, and they wanted something to live for. The Rulers merely rolled their eyes and told them they weren't grateful for even creating the world. One of them was killed after it muttered that they wished they never had if it were to be like this.
A few months later, Arceus came upon the Earth, hearing the cry of the Inhabitants. He was hidden from all and no one knew he was there. He watched another Inhabitant rejected after insisting to one of the Rulers that the world had to be changed. When he looked, afterwards, upon the full land of Pangaea, he was disgusted. The Inhabitants did not live, they survived. It was all that ever happened to them. A world like this, he thought, needed some changing. Using his plates, he made himself look like an Archeops. He flew to the Rulers just as he saw the other Pokemon, an Aerodactyl do, and began to talk with them. He tried to tell them that they were to change the world for the good, give the Inhabitants something to live for, but the Rulers began angry and attempted to kill him, tired of the constant questions. Arceus's rage broke out and he began to fight against the Rulers in his Archeops form. For three days straight, he fought for the world's change and for three days, the Rulers fought back. On the fourth day, though, he was no less energized then he was when he started. The Rulers, though, were not the same. They were hurt and exhausted. Arceus asked again for the world to be changed. The fury returned to their eyes and they lashed out once again, ready for the death strike. Arceus, over his disguise, revealed himself to the Rulers. They stopped and bowed down to him, but the damage had been done. Arceus's rage was terrible and split the world into two continents, Laurasia and Gondwana.
The Rulers, sorry for their actions, promised Arceus that they would change the world. Arcues agreed and told them that they had 5 years to bring life to the planet and another 5 for the creatures. They bowed and Arceus left. For the five years, the Rulers got to work. Groudon used his power to satisfy the earth and Kyogre for the sea. Rayquaza burst into the sky and forced an atmosphere around the Earth and already, the Pokemon were feeling a bit better.
Kyurem, Articuno, Suicune, and Regice spread out across the world, letting lose their powers. The water froze and the vegetation died. Snow fell to the ground and many Pokemon died in the cold. The Rulers were horrified, but then, sadly, Giratina reminded them that all roads end and some ends lead to greater things. So the Rulers called this Winter.
Reshiram, Ho-oh, Moltres, Entei, and Heatran decided to go out and melt the ice, try to redo the damage. Like the ice types, they spread out across the now frozen world and released tremendous power. The heat destroyed the cold, but the contrast created steam and the cold fought against the heat, creating distasters across the world. Once again, the Rulers couldn't believe what they had done for Pokemon had died. They called the distasters Tornadoes and Hurricanes and the season Summer.
The Rulers of Psychic, Mew, Mewtwo, Lugia, Latias, Latios, Jirachi, Deoxys, Celebi, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, and Cresselia felt horrible about killing many of the Pokemon in the harsh seasons. In the same way as before, they opened up to the world, using their powers in two ways to balance the seasons. One of them came after Winter and before Summer, where all the ice and snow melted away to be replaced by yellow Buttercups and green Grass. The Rulers called this Spring. The other one was after Summer and before Winter where the heat cooled down and leaves turned colors and fell of their trees. The Rulers called this Autumn.
They stood back to admire their work, but were surprised for the population of Pokemon had gone down and many species had gone extinct. For a month, the Rulers were saddened by their horrible deeds that caused this conclusion and they planned on how the world would change, how the Pokemon could become one with their environment. Sadly, when they were ready to face it, the Rulers came out and apologized to the world on their selfishness. They also told the Inhabitants that there would be no way to survive what was coming next. So, in honor of their bravery to face Legends, they raised them and tore their fur and skin from their bones and buried them in the ground, ready to rise again when the time had come.
Now, Regigigas, Terrakion, Cobalion, and Virizion took ropes and secured them across the country. They began to pull the continents apart four different ways while some of the Rulers attacked the ground to make it weaker. Finally, the rock began to crack and all of a sudden, Regigigas tugged hard on his rope and the world split. Some of the buried fossils fell from their homes and landed at the sea floor. Terrakion and Cobalion moved to the left while Regigigas and Virizion to the right. Regigigas, being the strongest pulled away with a large piece of the two supercontinents while Virizion, being the weakest, had only a small piece. Terrakion and Cobalion were both moving one supercontinent together and, finally, they settled. Terrakion and Cobalion named their continent America, Terrakion's continent South America and Cobalion's North America. Virizion realized that there were hundreds of islands in his continent, for he had tripped when Regigigas had split the world. He named the area Oceania and the main two islands Australia and New Zealand. Regigigas split his into three continents. The top left was called Europe, the top right was Asia, and the bottom on Africa. The Rulers looked at the world, land now covering most of it, proud of their work, and then Arceus came down again.
He was pleased. The five years had passed and everything had changed for the better. He congratulated the Rulers and told them that the death of all creatures would happen again if they didn't listen to the pained calls of life.
The next five years went be more slowly. One by one, the Rulers created many different species of creatures. Each was unique and belonged to a certain family of types. They worked on until the world was thriving with life. Four years had passed and the Rulers used the last year to rest. They were exhausted.
After the last year, Arceus came again. This time, he was not as pleased. The world stood before him, full of life and complete. He, though, did not see its completion. He came down into the world and separated it into two worlds instead of one. The first was the world of Pokemon, the other the world of Humans. He then spread goodness across the land like wildflowers. Among those wildflowers, however, were the black roses, as they were called later. He turned to the Rulers after his work was done.
"I have just given your world both a blessing and a curse. Forever, these two worlds will be separate. They have lost all memories of being with each other. For now, they know not each other. I have shown your people the goods of life. Some have listened to it, but some have chosen a darker path. Watch well these people, for some may want to destroy or rule this world. Do not let any power come higher then yours...or mine."
After this, the Rulers promised never to let the Humans or Pokemon ever thirst and hunger for life again. They promised to make this world a better place for everyone. Arceus, finished with his work, left to his own world. The Rulers dropped their high places in the sky and left to live in the world they had just created. They have become part of the world.
But not just any part.
